GPS Not Working

If OMN4 is not showing your position, first check whether the device is actually allowed to provide location data.

Check Permissions

  • confirm that location permission is enabled for OMN4
  • if the device offers a precise location option, allow it when appropriate
  • make sure system-wide location services are turned on

Check The Environment

  • move outdoors or closer to an open view of the sky
  • give the device a little time to get its first fix
  • remember that buildings, trees, and weather can affect accuracy

Android-Specific Tip

On Android, battery optimisation and background restrictions can interfere with longer GPS use and track recording. If OMN4 warns about battery settings, follow that guidance and whitelist the app if needed.

If The GPS Marker Appears But Feels Wrong

  • wait for accuracy to improve
  • use the recenter control again
  • check that you are not looking at stale offline positioning from another app state

OMN4 mobile is the main GPS workflow. Desktop use is better thought of as planning and review.
