GPS and Tracklogs
Tracklog Settings
Tracklog settings decide how often OMN4 records points and where the finished data will be stored.
Open The Settings
On mobile, go to Settings and open the GPS section.
What You Can Change
- the overall Track recording mode
- Every x metres when the chosen mode uses a distance trigger
- Every x seconds when the chosen mode uses a time trigger
- Folder to save GPX files
Depending on the recording mode, OMN4 may show only the distance setting, only the time setting, or both.
Choosing Sensible Values
- Smaller intervals give you a denser track, but create more points.
- Larger intervals save battery and storage, but simplify the recorded line.
- Use the track folder setting if you want recorded data grouped somewhere more specific.
Android Note
Android also shows battery guidance in the GPS settings because some devices restrict background location heavily.
