Privacy Policy

We store and process information to provide the OMN4 service, using third-party systems where needed. We do not sell your personal data or share it for other companies' marketing. We take reasonable steps to protect your data, and you can request its deletion as explained below.

Who we are

Anquet Technology Ltd is the controller of personal data used to provide OMN4, Anquet Cloud and omnmaps.com. This includes account information shared with OMN2 and OMN3.

Contact support@anquet.com or write to Anquet Technology Ltd, 13 Freeland Park, Wareham Road, Poole, Dorset, BH16 6FH, England. Company number: 04179362.

Information we use

  • Accounts and purchases: contact details, sign-in identifiers, subscription and transaction records, and offer eligibility. Sign-in and payment providers supply information needed to sign you in or verify purchases. Payment processors and app stores handle payment details; we do not receive your full card number. Required account and purchase information is necessary to provide the relevant service.
  • Your content: routes, recorded tracks, waypoints, notes, imported files and settings, processed to provide cloud storage and synchronisation. Imported files may contain additional information, including fitness measurements.
  • Location: device location to show your position and record tracks when enabled. Recording can continue in the background with the relevant permission. Recorded tracks sync to your account. Map requests also identify areas you view or download. You can change location permissions in your device settings; this affects location features.
  • Diagnostics and usage: device, app and installation identifiers, IP addresses, errors, performance and feature usage. These records can be linked to your account. Diagnostic logs can include recent location or searches. We use this information to investigate faults, secure the service and improve OMN4.
  • Support: messages, attachments, relevant account and purchase information, device details and support history, used to investigate problems and respond to requests. This includes AI assistance with processing requests and drafting replies, and recording bugs for investigation. Authorised staff may access relevant account and library information. Support information may also inform help material after personal details are removed.
  • Communications: contact details and email delivery, preference and link-interaction records, used for account messages and permitted marketing.
  • Advertising measurement:to see which of our adverts lead to new subscriptions, we link the advert, if any, that brought you to OMN4 to your account. In the iPhone and Android apps, this is the advert information Apple or Google Play gives the app when it is installed, such as the campaign and whether an advert led to the download. On omnmaps.com, only if you allow it, it is the advert's campaign details and click reference from the web address, the page you arrived on and the website you came from. We link these to your account when you sign in or subscribe. We do not share them with advertising companies.

We use account, purchase, content and requested location information to perform our contract with you. Our legitimate interests support proportionate security, fraud prevention, diagnostics, product improvement and support, including AI assistance, and measuring which of our adverts work from the advert information the apps receive. We also process records to meet legal obligations, including accounting requirements. Where processing requires consent, including optional website analytics and advertising measurement on the website, we rely on that consent. Marketing uses consent or the existing-customer exception where its conditions are met; our interest is promoting our services to customers.

Cookies and email choices

The website uses essential cookies and browser storage for sign-in and preferences. Sign-in storage can persist for up to 30 days; temporary Apple or Google sign-in cookies last a few minutes. Your privacy choices are stored in your browser so they apply on later visits.

Google Analytics operates on public pages only if you allow analytics. Its cookies can last up to two years.

If you allow advertising measurement, the omn_attr cookie holds the details of adverts that brought you to the website until your account receives them, for up to 90 days. It is not set if you say no.

Change either choice at any time with Privacy choices at the bottom of the website's pages. Turning advertising measurement off deletes the cookie and stops us noting adverts in that browser from then on. Advert details already linked to your account are kept as described below.

You can unsubscribe from marketing emails using the link in each message or by contacting us. Essential account and transaction messages are separate from marketing.

Systems and service providers

We use external systems and service providers to store and process personal data for the purposes described above. These include:

  • cloud hosting, storage, backup and content-delivery providers;
  • email delivery and handling providers;
  • crash-reporting and diagnostic services;
  • AI providers that help process support requests and draft replies, and issue-tracking providers that help manage bug reports;
  • payment processors and app stores for purchases and related verification;
  • identity and device-platform providers for sign-in and credential restoration;
  • website analytics providers, where you have allowed analytics.

Providers processing data on our behalf act under our instructions. App stores, payment providers and sign-in providers may also process information for their own purposes under their privacy policies.

Some providers process data outside the UK, including in the US. Transfers rely on applicable UK adequacy arrangements or approved contractual safeguards, such as the UK International Data Transfer Agreement or UK Addendum. Copies of contractual transfer safeguards: support@anquet.com.

Other disclosures

Information may be disclosed where required by law, for legal claims or to protect safety, or as part of a business sale subject to applicable data-protection law.

Retention and deletion

Account and library information is retained to operate your account and requested features. Retention depends on account activity, subscription status and whether you request deletion.

Purchase records are retained for applicable tax and accounting periods, generally six years, and longer where needed for a dispute or other legal requirement. Support, diagnostic and security records are retained according to their purpose: resolving requests and recurring faults, investigating security incidents and handling associated claims. Marketing preferences and suppression records are retained as needed to respect your choices and prevent unwanted contact.

Advertising measurement: click references are deleted 90 days after we receive them. Other advert details are kept with your account and deleted when you delete your account.

Export download files expire after seven days. Deleted records and earlier versions may remain in recovery systems and backups until their retention cycle ends. Account deletion does not necessarily remove records needed for legal obligations, claims or email suppression.

Your rights

Where applicable, you have rights to access, correct or delete your personal data, obtain a portable copy, restrict processing or object to processing based on legitimate interests. You can withdraw consent at any time without affecting earlier lawful processing, and object to direct marketing at any time. Requests, including questions about or objections to advertising measurement: support@anquet.com. You can complain to the Information Commissioner's Office or another competent data-protection authority.
