GPS and Tracklogs
GPS Setup
GPS setup in OMN4 is mostly about allowing the app to use your device location and then choosing sensible recording settings.
First Use
- Open OMN4 on your phone or tablet.
- Tap the GPS control on the map.
- Allow location access when your device asks for it.
If you deny permission, OMN4 cannot show your live position until you allow it later in the device settings.
GPS Settings
On mobile, open Settings and look for the GPS section. This is where you control:
- track recording mode
- distance and time intervals where relevant
- the folder used for saved GPX tracklogs
Android Note
Android battery optimisation can stop background recording on some devices. If you rely on tracklogs while the screen is off, check Android as well.
