Data Usage

The Data settings help you decide when OMN4 is allowed to use mobile data for map streaming and map downloads.

This matters most on phones and tablets where you may switch between Wi-Fi and cellular coverage during a trip.

Main Controls

• Map Streaming controls whether streamed map layers can use mobile data
• Map Download controls whether downloading offline maps can use mobile data

Sensible Defaults

• leave streaming on only if you are happy using mobile data in the field
• leave downloads on Wi-Fi only if you want to avoid large background data use
• download key areas before leaving home if coverage is uncertain

Good To Know

Turning off mobile data access for maps does not remove your existing downloaded maps. It only limits when OMN4 can fetch new map data from the network.
