OMN4
Settings and Customization

Activities

Activities keep calculation and appearance defaults together. OMN4 includes 21 Activities for walking, cycling, driving, running, winter sports, and other outdoor activities.

Open Settings > Activities, then choose an Activity from Favourites or its category. The current Activity is marked clearly in the list.

General

The General section shows the Activity name and category. These belong to OMN4's fixed catalogue and cannot be renamed, moved to another category, archived, added, or deleted.

You can change:

  • Favourite, which keeps a commonly used Activity near the top of Activity pickers
  • Default Activity, which sets the account default without changing the selected Activity's other preferences

Configured Destinations

Route and Track destinations are independent. Choose a folder for each, or use:

  • Default (Routes folder) for Routes
  • Default (Tracks folder) for Tracks and tracklogs

If a stored folder is no longer available, OMN4 shows it as unavailable. Choose another folder or the appropriate Default choice.

Calculations

The Calculations section contains the elevation algorithm, speed, ascent rate, descent rate, and Tracklog distance filtering.

The Tracklog distance filter belongs to the Activity. It is not changed on a Track, folder, or in a global Tracklog control.

Route, Track And Waypoint Appearance

Each Activity has separate Route style, Track style, and Waypoint style sections. Changing one does not change the others.

Route and Track styles include the symbol and size, map labels and text, line colour, pattern and width, distance markers, direction arrows, and on-screen width range.

Waypoint style includes the symbol and size, three map-label switches, map text font, and map text size. Choose No symbol when an item should deliberately have no symbol.

Routes, Tracks, and Waypoints use these Activity values unless their own Properties contain a custom value. Changing an Activity updates properties that still come from Activity; it does not replace custom values.

The same Symbol, Symbol size, and No symbol terms are used in Activity settings, individual Properties, and Set Activity for all three item types.

Reset An Item

Open a Route or Track's Properties to manage local values:

  • From Activity follows the selected Activity
  • Custom belongs to that Route or Track
  • Reset to Activity returns one property to the Activity value
  • Reset appearance returns every appearance property to the Activity without changing which Activity is selected

Changing Activity preserves custom appearance. Resetting appearance preserves Activity. A Waypoint follows the same rule, with its Activity stored on the individual point.

Change Many Items At Once

A folder or Waypoint group's Set Activity... action gives everything below it one Activity. It works differently from Properties on purpose: it makes those items match the Activity, so any appearance set on them individually is cleared. Properties, editing one item, leaves custom values alone.
