Settings and Customization
Units and Precision
Use these settings to choose how OMN4 reports measurements and how precise coordinate readouts should be.
Main Options
- Unit of Distance
- Unit of Height
- coordinate precision for the currently selected coordinate system
- optional formatting choices such as prefix letters and spaces where available
Why You Might Change Them
- switch between miles and kilometres
- change height readings between metres and feet
- show shorter or more detailed coordinate readouts depending on your task
Precision In Practice
Higher precision gives you more detail, but it can make coordinates longer and harder to read quickly. Lower precision is often easier when you just need a general location.
For the best results, choose the coordinate system you want first, then adjust the precision options that appear for that system.
