FAQ
Offline Maps
Do Downloaded Maps Work Without Phone Signal?
Yes. Once you download maps to the device, OMN4 uses them without phone signal or any internet connection. Your phone's GPS works without signal too.
Do I Need To Download Everything Before A Trip?
No. Download only the areas and map types you expect to need. Use Map Management to choose the coverage you want before you set off.
Are Downloaded Maps Synced To My Other Devices?
No. Sync is for personal working data such as routes, tracks, and waypoints. Offline maps are managed per device: you choose which maps to download on each phone, tablet or computer.
Why Does Storage Size Not Always Match The Sum Of The Listed Maps?
Some map areas share underlying data. OMN4 shows useful per-map sizes in the list, but the total storage used on disk reflects overlaps as well. See Storage and Verification for the detail.
