Map Updates

Map updates refresh the underlying mapping data that OMN4 uses for supported products.

What To Expect

• updates are tied to your subscription or entitlement
• updates usually arrive through a sync-and-update workflow rather than changing everything silently in the background
• only the downloaded areas and map types relevant to your device need to be refreshed

Why This Matters

Map updates and offline downloads are related, but they are not the same thing. First OMN4 needs to know that newer mapping is available for your account. Then the relevant downloaded data on the device needs to be updated.

Good To Know

Anquet's public information currently describes Ordnance Survey mapping updates as regular quarterly batches, but individual products and downloaded areas can differ in what changes from one cycle to the next.
