Search Places
Use Search when you know the name of the place, road, postcode, or feature you want to find.
Before You Start
OMN4 needs place-search data on the device. If the search page shows Download Place Data, download that first.
Search For A Place
- Open Search from the map.
- Type at least 3 characters into Search for places...
- Wait for OMN4 to return the matching results.
- Tap or click the result you want.
OMN4 then moves the map to that location.
If Search Data Is Missing
The search page shows a download prompt when place data is not ready yet. During large downloads you may also see progress text such as downloading or importing. Wait for processing to complete before expecting results.
Notes
- Search is designed to work offline once the place data has been downloaded.
- Very broad searches can return a lot of results. If that happens, refine the text or use Search Filters.
