Printing
Scale and Layout
OMN4 printing usually gives you two decisions to make: how large the map should appear on paper, and how the pages should be arranged.
Scale Choices
- Zoom changes how much map detail is shown on the page
- Print to scale uses a fixed map scale where supported
Print to scale is useful if you want distances on the paper map to match the printed scale as closely as possible.
Layout Choices
- single page
- two-page layouts such as side-by-side or above-and-below
- tiled layouts for larger areas
- route-aware layouts when printing around a selected route
Overlap
For multi-page prints, overlap helps neighbouring pages share a little common area. That makes it easier to move between pages while navigating.
More overlap gives you more continuity, but it also means more duplicated map area across the print job.
